Peña Escrita is a new flying place in the middle of a wild park and from Almuñécar a height of 1200mtrs. It has great thermals for pilots and also there's a swimming pool, barbecue and camping place, and last but not least much wildlife. An interesting place to visit also for non fliers.

Easy but small not much place to run for a front take-off. Top landing is not possible because of the antennas and cable lines behind the take-off. |

At 600 m - Next to the main street leading up to the Take-off is a small place! (It's more like a hump.) Decent can be made over the street around the landing place. The landing place hasn't got any obstructions but is small and not recommended for beginners. |

From the main street of Almuñecar at the round-a-bout follow the signs leading to Jete -Otivar which also is the old road leading to Granada and eventually before a bridge there's a sign to Pena Escrita. From there it's 11 klm and is easy to find. Next to the restaurant (1200m) is a little parking place, then walk a few meters to the take-off. |

Not recommended for beginners without a flying guide especially on the landing place, which should be supported with radio contact.
A great place for the family with a swimming pool, barbecue and camping place also much wildlife and walking tracks. Dogs are not allowed. Please drive slowly though the park not to frighten the animals. |
