Otivar is one of the best
thermal flying places near to Almuñécar
and only 30min drive away. It's easy to find.
The take-off and landing place is has direct
access next to the main road.

Easy but small not much
place to run for a front take-off. Top
landing is not possible because of the
antennas and cable lines behind the take-off.

The Landeplatz is direct
next to the main road leading to the take-off.
There's a parking place with a row of
tall trees. Decent can be made over the
street before the end approach.

From the main roads round-a-bout
Almuñecar, follow the signs to
Jete-Otivar. Drive through the town of
Otivar following the winding road a few
klms until you see the Tall trees / landing
place on the left hand side. Keep on this
road until you see the antennas on the
right hand side/Take-off.

The landing place is on
top of a hill in the mountains and drops
away on three sides. It's often hard because
of thermals around the landing area. Follow
the street for the landing approach and
don't attempt to fly over the valley,
(it sucks you down into it) Not for beginners
without a flying guide and radio contact
for the landing.
